Youth Firefighter Summer Program / Teen Firefighter Explorer Program

Fire Dept Summer Camp Collage

Teen Firefighter Explorer Program

Monday July 29 to Friday August 2 | 9:00a to 12:00p

The Teen Firefighter Explorer Program will provide a “day in the life of a firefighter” experience. Teens will participate in age-appropriate simulations including knocking down doors, search and rescue mission simulations, supervised climbing of the ladder truck, water rescue simulations, and CPR certification (an additional fee may apply for CPR certification). This program is designed to give teens a realistic look at what life is like as a firefighter. Whether teens are interested in one day becoming a firefighter themselves or just curious, this program is designed to be an educational, adventurous, and fun experience. This program will be open to anyone who will be ages 13-18 at the time of the program. Space is limited to 10 participants and no registration fee required (reminder, there may be a small fee for the CPR certification; if you have questions or concerns, please reach out).

Youth Firefighter Summer Program

Monday August 5 to Friday August 9 | 9:00a to 12:00p

Our “young sparks” program is designed to teach the basics of firefighting through fun activities and outings. Each day has a new theme of activities from Engine Day, Ladder Day, Water Rescue Day, and Medical Day. The young sparks can expect to participate in activities such as relay races that simulate fire rescues, helping firefighters spray the water hoses, water rescue activities and learning about the different trucks and tools used by firefighters. This program is welcome to anyone who will be ages 8-12 at the time of the program. Space is limited to 10 participants and no registration fee required.
