Property Tax Billing And Collection
General Information:
Swampscott real estate and personal property taxes are billed on a quarterly basis. The fiscal year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30 of each year. The following chart outlines the billing schedule:

* If the due date falls on a Sat., Sun. or legal holiday, taxes are due the first business day thereafter.
^ Abatement applications are due to Assessing Department no later than February 1 each year if you wish to dispute the assessed tax.
Payment Information:
Town Hall is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, through Thursday; and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Payments can be made 24/7/365 via either the Payment Drop Off Box located outside Town Hall, or by Online Payments. The Building is closed Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

Cahs Payments may only be made in person at the Treasury/Customer Service Office located on the First Floor of Town Hall.
Request a Receipt:
To request a receipt, you must include both copies of your bill and a stamped self-addressed envelope with your payment.
