Recreation Commission

The Swampscott Recreation Commission is a seven-member Selectmen-appointed Commission, responsible for the policy and programs of community recreation and is comprised of a representative from each precinct and one member-at-large.

The Commission seeks to provide a balanced program of leisure time activities which are not offered to residents by other town systems or departments. Our goal is to serve residents from school age into elder years, and make effective use of existing recreational facilities.

A fee is charged to register or obtain permits for most activities and programs run by the Commission.
