Interested in Serving on a Committee?

Volunteers Sought for Rail Trail Design & Construction Advisory Committee and Affordable Housing Trust

The Swampscott Board of Selectmen are looking for interested and engaged residents to serve on two new community committees. If you’d like to be considered for appointment to either committee, please click this link.

Rail Trail Design & Construction Advisory Committee

The Rail Trail Design & Construction Advisory Committee will work with the design and construction professionals engaged by the Town to design and establish the new rail trail. If you meet any of the criteria listed here, the Selectmen would appreciate hearing from you for consideration:

  • Background in landscape architecture
  • Background in design
  • Background in civil engineering
  • Background in other technical fields related to the project
  • Abutters to the proposed trail

Affordable Housing Trust

Town Meeting adopted the Swampscott Affordable Housing Trust general bylaw at its Annual Town Meeting in 2016. This Trust is an important piece in helping Swampscott provide for and encourage affordable housing development in the community. Its recommended that volunteers for the trust should have a strong background or interest in affordable housing creation.
