Closure of Swing Section of Abbott Park for Rehabilitation

The Town of Swampscott is happy to announce an upgrade and rehabilitation project that will begin shortly at Abbott Park. Funding for this rehabilitation project has been graciously provided by the PARC Grant Program, administered by the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs. The program's commitment to preserving and enhancing public parks and recreational areas has made it possible to undertake this vital renovation.

To allow for the rehabilitation - the swing section of Abbott Park will need to be temporary closed from July 3 to August 18, 2023. This closure is necessary to facilitate the much-needed improvements to enhance the safety and enjoyment of park visitors.

During the closure period, contractors will be working diligently to complete the necessary repairs and upgrades to the swing section. The scope of the rehabilitation project includes the replacement of worn-out swing seats, repair of structural components, installation of new safety surfacing, and general maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for park-goers.
