Director of Information & Technology

Reporting to the Town Administrator, position is responsible for the management of all technology hardware/software and their functions, including personal computers, printers, telephones, GIS, Town Hall security cameras, website maintenance, emergency notification systems and for the needs assessment, purchasing, installation, operation, maintenance, data conversion, and security of information technology systems for the Town, including, but not limited to, Unix, Windows servers and services, Virtual Machines and servers, SQL servers, and network switches. This confidential position sets policies and procedures governing the use of technology, maintains compatibility of systems for back-up support and shared resources.   Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Systems related field is preferred.  Experience with Patriot and/or MUNIS preferred. CTIA A+ certification required, Network+, MCP preferred.  A combination of relevant experience, training and education will be considered.

Town Accountant

The Town of Swampscott seeks qualified applicants for the position of Town Accountant.  Under the direction of the Town Administrator, responsibilities include the administration of the Town’s accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, financial statements and reports, budget administration, reconciliations, internal/external controls, maintenance of the general ledger and all other similar or required duties. The Town Accountant insures that all transactions conform to Massachusetts General Laws and sound municipal accounting practices. Position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field, and a minimum of five years of experience preferably in municipal accounting. MA Accountants & Auditors Certification as a government accountant preferred. Knowledge of GAAP, GASB, UMAS and applicable MA General Laws required. Salary range 80k DOQ.
