************************Traffic Alert************************

BEGINS on JUNE 13th 2016

The Swampscott Police and the Swampscott DPW would like to announce that the paving project for Humphrey St. will begin on June 13th, and will last approximately 3 weeks, ending approximately June 30th.

These dates are tentative depending on weather conditions and other factors. Humphrey St. will be paved from the Lynn line up to the Fish House.

For 2-3 days in the beginning of the project, Humphrey St will be down to one lane while the street is ground down.

Parking will be totally restricted along Humphrey St during the work hours (6 AM-6PM) of this 2-3 day period.

It is our goal to maintain two way traffic during this time but be advised traffic patterns may be forced to change depending on the demands of the project.

The same situation will apply toward the end of the project when the work crews are paving the roadway.

In the time span in between the grinding and the paving there will be crews raising the manhole covers and other utility covers.

Be advised that these raised structures should be avoided when travelling and lower clearance motor vehicles could be damaged it they were to run over them.

EXPECT SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC DELAYS, especially during commuter times, PLAN YOUR TRAVEL ACCORDINGLY and SEEK AN ALTERNATE ROUTE, keeping in mind that there will also be work being done on Paradise Rd but that should not have as great an impact on traffic.

We will be working hard to make sure that this project goes as safely and as quickly as possible.

Your patience and safe driving is greatly appreciated. Please share this post!!!!
Have a nice day!
